Wates Bangbau House

Wates Bangbau (pronounced “wah’tas bang’bau” ) is surrounded on two sides by rice fields, has two air conditioned bedrooms and can accommodate up to 5 people. The master bedroom has a king-size bed that can also be arranged as twin beds. Its en suite bathroom has a roomy shower. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower and hot tub. In the main living room, a large day bed can accommodate one more guest, and there is access to the master bathroom directly from the living room. All beds are romantically draped in mosquito netting and ceiling fans cool each room.

Each bedroom has a private garden with patio and seating, and a beautiful view into the rice fields. The spacious living room offers plentiful seating and lounging with its couches and chairs and a large dining table. At one end of the room wall-to-wall folding glass doors open onto the garden and a wide wrap-around porch that leads to a separate fully equipped kitchen. In the house’s main garden a lotus pond separates an elegant resting pavilion from the main house, offering a tranquil space to read a book, or enjoy your breakfast surrounded by the garden.

Services

The staff we employ are trained on-the-job. They don’t have hotel-school backgrounds, but are excellent cooks.

Facilities

The center of the property hosts a 15-meter lap pool, with a shallow corner for relaxing.

Grounds

Umajati is set in half a hectare (one acre) of rice field, coconut grove, and woodland bordering the Tirta Tawar River.

Location

Umajati is 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) northeast of the center of Ubud, and a 10-minute ride by our complimentary local shuttle.
