Surrounded by tranquil rice fields, Umajati Retreat’s two elegantly converted 100-year-old Javanese wooden homes offer daily, weekly and monthly rentals. Each is hosted by a full time staff, including cooks that specialize in healthy and vegetarian food. Umajati is a lush garden property with a shared swimming pool that offers easy access by complimentary shuttle to Ubud’s many restaurants, spas, and cultural opportunities.

Umajati Retreat also hosts one- and two-week small group workshops on fiber arts with natural dyes and Bali’s cultural arts. All are held on site at the Threads of Life natural dye studio and the Bebali Foundation dye plant garden, and are taught by international teachers or the organizations’ dyers who each draw on over fifteen years of field research documenting, testing, and teaching the archipelago’s natural dye traditions.
