Housekeepers and Cooks
Umajati’s housekeeper-cooks will take care of you during your stay with us, preparing meals to your requests, keeping the house clean, and organizing laundry. The staff we employ are trained on-the-job. They don’t have hotel-school backgrounds, but are excellent cooks. In them, you meet the genuine Bali. They will make your breakfast, and can prepare and serve lunch and dinner to order. Dishes may be chosen from an extensive cookbook of recipes with which the cooks are familiar. Vegetarian dishes are a specialty.
Breakfast is included in the room price and there is an extensive menu for lunch and dinner, much of it vegetarian. At breakfast, you can order your meals for the rest of the day from the housekeeper. As each house has its own kitchen, food will keep if you change your mind and decide to eat out at one of Ubud’s many restaurants. There is always the option of self-catering and the housekeeper can shop for you or take you shopping with them, so you can get the freshest and even organic produce, find the best bread, and visit the choicest deli, all at relatively inexpensive prices. An organic garden on the property supplies fresh vegetables in season.
